Download Better FPS 1.2.0

Build and package checks passed. This beta has not yet been exercised with real PC clients on an ASA test server.

Commands

/fps · /fps on · /fps off
/fps low · medium · high · epic
/fps status · /fps help

Off applies a configurable baseline. It does not claim to restore each player's original settings.

Installation

  1. Install ASAAPI.
  2. Extract the download.
  3. Copy BetterFps.dll, config.json, and PluginInfo.json into ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ArkApi\Plugins\BetterFps\.
  4. Restart the server, then use /fps help in game.

Preset behavior

Low, Medium, High, and Epic are configurable. Every preset disables bloom, volumetric clouds, volumetric fog, and fog. Existing configurations using the former OnCommands format retain their custom ON commands as the configured default until you migrate.

Back up a customized config before replacing it with the included sample.

Better FPS · features and setup

Better FPS is a free ASAAPI plugin that gives players four server-controlled graphics presets: Low, Medium, High, and Epic. Players can switch presets in-game and check their current setting without buying a key or creating an account.

Install

  1. Install the current ASAAPI release.
  2. Stop the server and copy BetterFPS.dll, PluginInfo.json, and config.json into ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64/ArkApi/Plugins/BetterFPS/.
  3. Start or restart the server, then test the commands with one player before rolling it out community-wide.

Player commands

/fps opens the preset help, while /fps low, /fps medium, /fps high, and /fps epic select a preset. Use /fps status to check the current selection and /fps off to disable the override. This release is marked beta, so confirm the result on your server and client combination.
